  1. Ok I DLed it, now I need people to talk to on it.

  2. I have high hopes for this. AIM sucks. Yahoo is the best IM service but no one I know uses it and it's the classic "but all my friends are on AIM!" Google is "cool" enough to hopefully cause a switch and interested in quality enough to hopefully support everything yahoo does (namely offline messages which I really wish AIM had)

The question here is wether or not Cerulean Studios will try to incorperate Google Talk in to a future release of Trillian (if Google Talk really takes off, that is).

I haven't personally tried it myself, just yet, but that's on my list of things to do once I get back to my computer proper.

Despite all, though, I still prefer IRC, strangely enough.

  4. I used to use ICQ, had a 6 digit number and everything, but everyone got AIM, so I was forced to switch... I then used Trillian to be able to use both buddy lists... then I just talked to no one on ICQ anymore, and Trillian was just way too imcompatable... so I was forced to use AIM, and I was never happy about it. I used DeadAIM for a while, but then they started charging, or else I'd be incompatable and have an old AIM. I just can never win. Anyway, point of my rant is I hope people switch to Google, and I know things will improve.

    Just use GAIM.

  6. gAIM SUCKS.

  7. gaim is perfectly fine. It's the underlying protocol, AIM, that sucks.

  8. I've heard of gaim, a buddy of mine tried to get me to use it, but he uses it and whenever I try to send files or anything, it doesn't work. So since file transfers are a big part of what I like to do, I won't be switching anytime soon.

They did. Google Talk is just a Jabber implementation. You just need Trillian Pro in order to be able to access it.
