Thread: Did PS3 Deliver The Knockout Punch To 360?

You've got it backwards. Sony didn't have to prove itself, Microsoft did. Sony is the leader, still has plenty of time, and has outdone MS at every turn thus far. MS is the one that needed to be selling itself.

I like how you made the only pro-PS3 choice an involuntary pledge of MGS love, btw. You're turning into more of a GameFAQs poster than me, Strider.
Buy Yakuza and Oblivion. Help yourself, help TNL.

  2. Pwnt.

  3. There are too many games either out or still coming for current systems for me to consider the next gen for at least a year, and that's not even counting handhelds. My pile of shame is a mountain right now and it's only getting worse.

  4. ...

    I'm getting both systems....OOPS...wrong answer.

  5. I think they needed another year before launching, and that goes for both systems.

No, there's nothing wrong with that - if you've got the cash, then go for it. I think all three look promising for one reason or another. I just wanted to see if people felt Sony had MEGATONNED the competition again like they did with PS2.

Not for the 360. The jury is out on the PS3.

It is finished. He'll be wondering why he bought it.

And personally, I agree with Strider on MGS's corny dialogue. The games themselves are fun to play, however.

Nintendo and Sony are really the only systems I think I'll need. But it's still too early to tell.
Agreed…360 doesn't interest me. PS3 appears to be a must-buy, and the Revolution is oddly starting to get my interest. It all depends on if they turn this mish-mash of insane ideas into something that actually works for a gaming console, or if it turns into another Virtual Boy. Oh, and some decent 3rd party support wouldn't hurt this time, either.

MS is going the Saturn route with 360...rushing it to market and underwhelming the masses. Exactly what they don't need.

Yep. Except without Daytona or Panzer Dragoon.

    Ditto.

If ever there was a system that screams 'Price Drop', especially with the standard 60 dollar games, it was XB360. I'll do the same with PS3.

New policy is 3 games I really want to play + Price Drop = Sold.

It's like Star Wars, even the originals have some of the most contrived and just bad dialogue ever. Still good movies.

Following up on Andrew's question, why is the PS3 option written in that gamefaqs style, anyways? That tough to hold the disdain in, strider?
