Guys, best of luck- let us know that you are all alive. Damn, there's no friggin way that I'm not getting hit by another hurricane before this season ends...
Well, we made it to North LA, & made pretty good time too. According to MSNBC Rita is going to hit lake charles. If the storm surge is as bad as they say, I may be out of work due to flooding, & Brad may have a fucked up house. The Surge may put everything south of I-10 under water, that includes Sulphur, LA where Brad lives & I work.
My House is gonna be right in the path of the badass winds if it continues on this course, I may end up coming home to matchsticks.
This is seriously messed up, It really feels unreal. Looks like you can rest easy for Station & Tracer though.
Well, I gotta go, I'll try to hop on sometime when I find out how things went.

To boldly go where lots of men have gone before...
I hope everyone in the area makes it out safely.
Say you like it/Say you need it/When you don't
Looking better/Shining brighter/Than you do
IF and only IF the eye keeps to the right of myself and Tracer and Marskitten - then we will be fine - I'm holding my breath and hoping like hell. Sorry to hear about your house being in the path of destruction and man I hate to say it but its better that the eye hit the easterly counties rather than directly hit harris country and have a bigger death toll. Good luck man, I hope your house makes it, stay safe up there.Originally Posted by JM
Here in San Antonio we're all kinda joking about how it's going to affect us, but the truth is people here are getting pretty nervous anyway. There's no water to be had in the stores and most everything that doesn't have to be refrigerated or cooked has been bought.
Except the Vienna Sausage, of course.
We don't really know what we're going to get, which is scary in itself. We've got people predicting 15+ inches of rain and sustained 60mph winds, and we've got people predicting 1 inch of rain and gusty winds. Thanks for giving us a ballpark figure, guys.
Streets are closed off to certain areas of the state -- the road from SA to Seguin is closed already. We're all hoping for the best, but hunkering down and preparing for the worst; you really can't tell with hurricanes.
We're all hoping that the damage will be as small as possible, but damn...this really is a monster coming.
Wouldn't it be funny if the hurricane started going back into the ocean and dissipated?

Good luck with this thing guys.
JM, I think its good that you and Brad got the hell out of 'Dodge'. Doesnt Joe live around you guys too?
And I think Station, Kitten, and all of you on the coastline should get the fuck out.really. These things can change direction in a heartbeat. And you really dont want to be on the recieving end of something strong like this.

Ummm, they're not staying because they want to. They're staying because leaving Houston at this point is utterly IMPOSSIBLE. Traffic is backed up for hundreds of miles, stations are out of gas, and the highways are full of broken-down vehicles that either ran out of gas or overheated. It's a scary situation, but it's not like they're sitting there saying "do do do gee we shouldn't leave this hurricane might be fun!"Originally Posted by Jetman
I can't even remember all of the hurricanes I've sat through here, but I can't even imagine winds that fast. Please be careful guys, and get plenty of drinking water ready (you won't want to drink tap water even in a best case scenario). I'm wishing the best for you all.

-_' how the fuck did this happen again? Just how worthless is our government?
Fuck. This is some serious shit. I just wish I could help you guys out, but being in broke and in California kinda ruins that.
Stay safe.![]()
