Thread: oh shit.. another Cat 4 going to the gul coast....Rita oh my... sratch that.. CAT 5

  1. It looks like Rita has already claimed its first victims before even reaching land. A bus carrying elderly folks fleeing the hurricane catches on fire. And then it explodes due to the oxygen tanks inside.

  2. Man, I am glad I live in Del Rio which is about 150 miles west of San Antonio. We will probably get some rain and maybe tornados. I haven't seen too many people this far west, but it would be a good place to hole up. Rita fucked up my vacation plans, me and DJ (my boyfriend) were supposed to fly out of Houston today to go to England, but our flight was canceled due to the storm. The next available flight was on Tuesday afternoon going out of San Antonio which would have cost us an extra 100 dollars for gas money plus another 100 for long term parking. We just canceled our trip and got a refund. Good news is that I have an extra 700 dollars now and I am going to go buy We Love Katamari. Keep safe you guys and I will be praying for you.

  3. I don't know if this is funny or tasteless.

I just drove past a Mexican restaurant whose magnetic sign said "The only Rita you want is our Platinum 'Rita."

Yeah, no kidding. We're rooting and praying for you guys as well, though I'd hope that goes without saying.

I've scarcely been able to tear myself away from the computer; I keep checking the news and the weather, hoping for some better news.

Rita's down to a Cat 3 now, but she's producing Cat 5 surges in some places...

  4. I don't think McAllen will get hit, but I'm sure we will get alot of rain and a good bit of the after shock. Lord knows if it hit here everyone could never get out. We only have one highway out of here.

Yeah, McAllen's roads are total chaos even in good weather. I once tried to leave McAllen once and nearly killed 50 people who don't know to get out of the road when a car's coming....

  6. The storm is still heading right for our area. There is a weather channel guy in Sulphur right now. I really think Lake Charles & Sulphur are gonna get pretty fucked up. Damn I hope Our houses come out OK.

I wish I knew where Brad is, I have no idea where he evacuated to, or if he even did evac for that matter. Brad, if you get a chance to read this, PM me & let me know how you are doing.

  7. I talked to Brad last night, and he's in Texarkana. Paul on the other hand is being a fucking retard and NOT evacuating for fear of his shit getting looted. He said Lake Chuck is completely deserted and quite eerie at the moment. You guys be safe, if I wasn't atheist I'd be prayin for you right now. Give me a call when you get a chance.

  8. Good to hear about Brad. I'll give you a ring this evening.

  9. Apparently it's been dropped to a category 3 hurricane with winds maxing out at 125 MPH. That's a very slight relief.

  10. skies getting darker - winds picking up - get inside houston friends, its almost time for the pre-show. Remember - the hurricane wind business will last for a span of 6-12 hours - just make it for 12 hours.
