Looks like I'll be waiting until October to get the DS then. Savings is savings, and the teal color looks nice. Is it just me, or does that "Game Included" text look a lot like Game Informer's current logo?
Here's the story at IGN: http://ds.ign.com/articles/652/652703p1.html
"September 21, 2005 - A few weeks ago we revealed that Nintendo had registered Nintendogs: Holiday Edition with the ESRB for an E rating. Today, the company revealed that Nintendogs: Holiday Edition has been renamed "Best Friends Version," and is the version that will be bundled with two new DS system colors shipping this October.
On October 24th, Nintendo will release Pearl Pink and Teal DS bundled with a special fourth edition of Nintendogs. Each bundle will retail for $149.99, 10 dollars less than if gamers purchased the system and game separately. The bundle will also include a unique Nintendogs branded skin for the system, as well as a bone-shaped screen cleaner.
Nintendogs: Best Friends Version will feature all 18 of the same dogs within the other three versions already available. This version, though, will have a new list of six starter puppies: Labrador retriever, golden retriever, German shepherd, beagle, Yorkshire terrier and miniature dachshund.
Nintendogs, to date, has sold through nearly 1.5 million units in Japan and North America."
I think it's cool that Nintendo's doing the bundle, I'm sure the Beagle puppy on the box will sell systems by himself, but I was getting my hopes up for some sort of holiday expansion pak that would go in the GBA slot. I've been taking my DS around in Bark Mode everywhere I go and I've yet to find anyone else, the more people playing this game the better.

I'm happy I picked up the Blue DS bundled with Mario 64 for $129.99, the two new colors are a little too pastel for me. With the Best Buy gift card the savings are down to 5 bucks, I think it's worth 5 bucks to start playing Nintendogs a month earlier and get a free copy of Mario 64. I want that Nintendogs skin and bone shaped screen wipe though......
Pass.
My fiancee would kill for that Pink DS and I think that blue one kicks ass.
Well, hopefully the blue one is still around if my silver one ever blows up or something.
There is a black one in Japan, right?Originally Posted by Shinobi128
I'll answer my own question - Yep. About the same price as an American DS, too.

Ack. I liked being the only one I've ever seen with a pink DS. I have so little...

It is cool that Nintendo is finally bringing a pink version over, though. We never got the pink GBA SP, and the clear pink GBA didn't really count. And if something goes wrong and you NEED a US DS in order to set up an account to play online games, at least I know if worse comes to worse I can always replace my JPN pink DS with a US pink DS.
The more colors the better, though. I think it is more interesting when you're playing games with other people and you all have different colored DSes. YES I KNOW HOW GAY THAT SOUNDS, SHUT UP. But the red one seriously needs to come over here... it is super-sexy. We already have one version of blue (Better than the Japanese blue? How did that happen?), it'd be better to bring over one of the different colors. And WOW, props to Nintendo for picking the two wackiest color choices to bring over, instead of the far, far safer red, black, or white ones.

Better yet, make a portable (this is to either Nintendo or Sony) and have changable faceplacts/total covers for the fashion sensitive people out there.
