Thread: Disgaea 2 Announced.

  1. I'm playing the US version of Disgaea 2 now for review and it's pretty dece...feels a lot shorter than the first game, though.

  2. This sounds like it sucks, dude!

    DUDE!
    Time for a change

  3. DS

    Deep Labyrinth - 2.0, 3.0, 7.5
What asswholes! i can not believe that tehy acttualy playied the game!

Oh, anyway, RedCo, you hate every game (except Summon Night EX and Sakura Wars um, 4?), but i like reading your stuff. There's no reason to give in to jerks who think you're wrong and take stuff down. I still miss looking at your page on 1up. Now Rocca works all the time and Animegirl rarely updates. ;__; Internets is a cruel bitch.

    And Dood! imo.

I don't. Tales of Legendia, Grandia III, Shadow Hearts 3, and Summon Night Swordcraft Story were all thoroughly enjoyable (to name a few).

  5. I would hate to spend 50 bucks on the game just to have it be the same thing as the first or worse, have it suck. But I would also hate to run the risk of not getting this game and it disappearing off the shelf like the first one did and have it be good game.

  6. Eurogamer gave it a 9/10.

I'll be passing and hoping the first game drops in value eventually. I waited five years for Soukyugurentai.

Wow, thanks. I always try to illustrate my opinions with specific examples to avoid being inflammatory and allow the reader to disagree if he wishes. It's not my problem if people misinterpret that.

I update every two weeks or so. Sometimes every week when I am feeling froggy.

  9. RedCo, you should make a Summon Night Swordcraft thread so i don't have to.

The thing is, that fans know what they are getting into. If you liked the first one, you will like the second. I personally have played enough of the import to know that I will like it. It really is a re-engineering of the first with tweaks, but that's ok with me. Laharl and co. are all hidden characters. I mean for me, I'd be perfectly happy with the same game with new locales or expansions, something I think NIS should have done a while ago (offer expansion packs for existing games). New classes, maps, weapons, etc. The engine works fine for me.

But I also see the point for others. They want new, fresh, etc. You aren't going to get that here. I totally agree with RedCo's points on Makai, yet I love that game to death. It worked for me. I know it is a C or lower game, but I gave it a B simply for enjoyment factor, but then again I enjoy powerleveling for 100+ hours. A lot of you won't. I enjoy finding weird weapons in bonus dungeons, leveling vehicles, etc. I like figuring out how best to level up characters, etc.

I also agree that it's ok for people to disagree. Do my opinions suck? Maybe. I don't care. I just have to know what I like and play that.

I wouldn't just say, well now I don't want to play it cause someone said they don't like it.

Ask yourself, did you like the first one? Could you replay it with some minor tweaks? If so, then there's you answer. If you want a whole new game, then D2 won't be for you. It's got enough upgrades and new classes, etc. to warrant another 100+ hours from me. In the entire videogame universe, it's ok with me if a handful of the games are all built off the same engine, cause I like them. Sure I would have liked progressive scan and some other upgrades, but I'm just happy that we are getting the game in the first place.
