The cloth is a bit off, but that's amazing to see in action. It wasn't until I looked at the audience in the background that I found anything that didn't look stunning, and that required a still picture to notice.

  2. Shit, those spectators have some bony arms.

  3. Alright, who took a dump in kedewa's frosted flakes this morning?

This is like a fucking political debate where one party knows they are wrong but had one half-decent idea that was smacked down. Instead of admitting they spoke too soon, they decided to go with it and try to save face.

It doesn't work for crappy politicians, and it isn't working for kedewa. Just admit you were/are a little mistaken and move on. You certainly aren't impressing anybody by finding the chinks in the armor of this amazing looking trailer.

  4. NEVAR!
    Graphics became irrelevant in 1999.
I will not be swayed by fancy razzmatazz!

Truth. The graphics have 'raised the bar' and that's all, really. It's not like I'll ever mistake the game for real life.

  6. when did skin become so shiny? they look like freakin barbie dolls.

  7. Sweat under stadium light tends to do that.

  8. being shiny is one thing.....looking like plastic is another.

My whole point, which I guess I didn't make clear enough, is that the graphical improvements won't make nearly as much difference during gameplay as those videos would suggest.
To back you up a bit, I understand the point that you are making, and to some extent it is valid. When the camera is zoomed out, you aren't going to see the huge amount of detail in the players as you see in the up-close shots of them dunking and whatnot.

The other side of that, though, is because of that large amount of detail, when zoomed out, there IS going to be a noticable difference. The more detail you originally have, the better is looks when shrunk down, and the more realistic these players are going to be. I was a Best Buy a few weeks ago, and they had a HDTV set running a football game vai Madden on the Xbox. I was standing there watching a bit of it, and two guys who were walking buy stopped for a moment. After a minute or so, one guy said, "When in the world was this game played?" I then told him that it wasn't a real game, but actually a video game.

That's going to be one of the improvements of all of this detail - when zoomed out, your mind will be easier tricked into being fooled that those players could actually be real people. That's a very big step up in graphics, and wouldn't come unless that detail that you miss when not up close wasn't there to begin with. So, you WILL notice the difference in graphics, just in different ways.

  10. I'm sure having an HDTV will make quite a difference, as well.
It's a shame the crowd couldn't have been more detailed.
Personally, I'd rather have everything in the game look just good than have the players look amazing and the rest look mediocre.
