hopefully MS doesn't lock out that controller with a firmware upgrade
depends on the stick primarily (see: the madcatz ps3 sticks that will only work on intel-based usb chipsets for pc) but usb is usb is usb
the thing here is that datel got around microsofts peripheral security lockout system, so they're able to combine all 3 systems on a single pcb which makes dual stick mods a holy fuckton simpler

Some Hori EX2s can be a bitch to set up on windows.

EX2 has some famously gunchy buttons. To make things even gunchier, my girlfriend spilled some soda all up in the buttons. We removed 'em and soaked 'em in rubbing alcohol, not much help. She went ahead and bought some Sanwa buttons. They were a bitch to get in there, but we got it all set, and now the biggest problem with the EX2 is fixed. And I have a second stick again for other people to use while I use my TE.
They aren't kidding when they say it's a pain to mod, though!
Nice work, Tain. When my friends come over, they either get the EX2 or the 6 button controller![]()
I modded my TE stick ages ago with a bat handle and an octo gate.
I've since gone back to the stock gate and replaced every button on the stick.
The back and xbox buttons are on the back of the stick, the start button is where the xbox button used to be, and the bumpers are on the side for pinball.
The green buttons are seimitsu PS-15's, which are the only buttons I know of that are actually shorter than the stock hori buttons. The rest are sanwa.
I put the indicator LEDs where the old white buttons used to be and mounted them using some pop-in lamp housings I bought at a surplus store.

Tain definitely broke a Dremel tool modding that stick, btw.
