Seriously though, this is a fucking brilliant move and I don't see how PSP can survive it. Nintendo just crushed the PSP under a pile of greasy DS'. All that's left is for Apple to release an Ipod Video with a better screen. Nintendo is a violent baby eating monster when it's handheld market is threatened apparently, and the winner is gamers everywhere. I know where I'll be scamming rare items off of little kids in Animal Crossing while eating burgers and fries this holiday season.

I just read the article, and this is absolutely brilliant. Damn Nintendo... damn. You know when to pull out all the stops. When they want to do something, they do it right. This online service is sounding like the XBL of the handheld community. Rock on!

October 17, 2005 - Nintendo of America on Tuesday will announce a groundbreaking partnership with Wi-Fi provider Wayport to make available free Internet access to DS owners at McDonald's restaurants across the nation. Nintendo and Wayport will offer complimentary Wi-Fi hotspots at McDonald's establishments, enabling DS owners to use the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection, which launches November 14 in the states, to play online games with or against each other.

Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection marks the company's entry into the online arena. The service is dramatically different from competitors because it is entirely free to consumers who already have wireless Internet access at home

plus we have the mature crowd who will have to go out of their way to go to a McDonalds to JUST play their DS online

aka, Ronald's gonna come up in commercials saying, "HAY KIDS COME TO MY RESTAURANTS, EAT SHIT THAT MIGHT BE FOOD AND PLAY PEOPLE ALL OVER THE WORLD IN YOUR DS K!!!11"
