Too bad it's in Play. Yes, perhaps the greatest triangle-hater of all time now has a gig as the Japan correspondant for Halverson's mag. They even mention blue shadows in Nick's bio.

The Japan section's not bad - it reads like a strategy guide for buying games in Akihabara or something. No word on whether anybody in Japan has challenged him to a kanji showdown, or what his feelings are on Ken Kutaragi's anouncement that PS3 will be capable of displaying 120 fps ("lies! I only count 119!"), but he does manage to namedrop both Hi-Saturn Navi and Princess Tomato in the Salad Kingdom, which means he's managed to out-hardcore every issue of Game Informer put together in a single paragraph.

His writing's alot more restrained these days though, if this first article is any indication. I think somebody needs to go and piss him off before the next issue; anybody in a position to completely mangle the FFXII translation with feeble Paris Hilton jokes?

Speaking of former GF'ers working for PLAY; I saw shidoshi's name heading a list of current anime favorites several issues ago (maybe like a year ago now). I forgot to bring it up on here until now. However, I don't think I've seen his name since and I read every issue thoroughly (though I'm two behind which is why I didn't know about this Nick Rox business).

Play's my favorite US mag, no hate at all. It looks nice and the writing's not terrible, even if the reviews aren't always trustworthy. Sometimes... I actually BUY it. (ha ha, not YOU though, EGM)
