Thread: System Monitor Program

  1. System Monitor Program

I found this neat one called Conky but it appears to be for just about everything except Windows/Mac. I'm looking for something similar; a system monitor program that displays a good amount of information at once, and preferably can also do transparency with always-on-top. Any suggestions?

  2. I use PC Wizard
I don't know if it has everything you want in terms of information about system files (not as much detail as in those Conky screenshots), but it does have a transparency function (At least for the temperatures and frequency, perhaps more if you play around).

I've had it for about a month and no complaints, but I'm not heavily into the techinical detail like you might be. Worth looking at anyway.

  3. That one's okay but not everything I want at once. There was another I found that seemed to work pretty well overall (although it only displayed free space on my C: drive and not my G: drive) called EF System Monitor, but it was shareware riddled with annoying messages and limited time usage. Then I discovered the amazing Konfabulator as linked by Hubbitron in the desktop thread. It's overdone and a bigger memory hog for the specific purpose I wanted, but I can also use the widgets to cover other programs as well. Pretty pimp, really.
