Probably in some other thread where someone cries about walmart being the evil empire.
Where have I heard that before?

Wal-Mart isn't the evil empire, but I hate it and every person who shops there (a.k.a. Mexicans).
lol at buying from big chain store elitism.
What are you defining as a service? Is IT in there? I know people who have a job similar in intent to mine but in the manufacturing idustry that make a lot less than I do.Originally Posted by IronPlant

Services are jobs that perform a task that does not result in the production of a physical object or thing. Building a car would be a manufacturing job, doing the paper work on the cost of metal to make the car for the factory, is a service.

People tend to forget (or ignore) the fact that a huge amount of INsourcing comes into the United States as well. There may well be MORE manufacturing jobs in the U.S. than there used to be.
It's practically impossible to fine non-biased information on either side of the issue.

You're blatantly inflating the number of insourced jobs. Because it's far from a huge amount. In the automotive industry especially, plants that come BACK to the U.S. tend to go down south (where labor laws are lax) and after collecting millions in subsidies end up only hiring maybe 60 to 70 employees tops. The rest is all automated. PBS did a really good special on this a few weeks back.Originally Posted by JefmcC

Another reason that foreign auto companies come to the south is that the south is pretty indifferent to unions.
