I believe you're SOL on using that old memory stick.
I had been having problems with my system rebooting at inopportune times, especially when doing RAM-intensive activities. I upgraded my RAM (added another 512meg stick) in the hopes that this would solve the problem, but it didn't, so I ran some tests and discovered there were some errors on the older simm. I took it out and now the thing runs, fine except that I only have 512 megs now. Is there anything I can do to work around this? Anyway to have the computer avoid the bad areas of RAM the way you would with a damaged hard drive? Or do I just have to pitch it and replace it?

Fire and lots of it.
Pitch it and replace it.
