I'm a new member and this is my first review... so I hope it's alright.
Well, at first I thought that this game would be just like any other sports game, but when I played it at my friend's house I simply fell in love. It had new elements that I never thought would work in a sports game. There's an actual story mode in NBA '06, you customize your own character, (which wasn't just where you change the color of your player and simple things like that, but you get to choose height, weight, stuff that actually affects the player's skills in game.), you work on your player's stats, work to get an agent, get drafted onto the team of your choice, and take charge of his career. You really get to take charge in this game and control many aspects that normal games won't let you. Well, after playing this mode for a while, I decided to check out the mini games since I heard a lot about them. Well, what I saw wasn't what I expected. Normally, there are games like H-O-R-S-E and 21 and generic games of that sort, but in this game, it offered games like dodgeball to the table and really opened up the box in the mini game section. Well, after playing this game for a considerable about of time, I decided to borrow it and test out the online features when I got home. When playing the online mode, your roster gets updated, and you can either play one on one, or take on others in a tournament with many other players. All and all, it's a very good game that offers a lot; if you're a sports game fan looking to try something new, then this is the game for you.
(God, I feel like those kids at the end of Reading Rainbow talking about a book they just read.)
you don't have to tell me twice! I have been playing for 2 weeks allready! It is so much better than last year's version. I think that incorporating the life mode was a good call. more games should do it really. makes for a longer game. something more to do when you are alone. ya know?
Well, chuck a wombat through a wormhole and suck my index finger! This game suuuuuuuuuuuuure sounds peachy! I just might have to pick a few copies up! I love the baskertball and all of the funny, dark-skinned people that play it! Thanks for letting me know about it, for I had no idea basketball games existed!
