Thread: Rajuruji coming to Japanese Dreamcast!

I think its "cool" that the DC still has games coming out for it.

I won't buy or play any of them, but its still cool.

  2. Sethsez - I have not had a chance yet to partake in Chaos Field or Trizeal, however, I know many old school shmup fans who loved Trizeal..(SHMUPS web forums

As for Chaos Field, I'll try it myself when it comes out for USA Gamecube in 10 days (December 13th - $30 - it is actually Chaos Field Expanded).

  3. A lot of people at Shmups like any new shmup because there's only 3 new ones a year.

Even shmups had plenty of people who considered it a gigantic bore. It was hardly universally liked over there, and personally I've played freeware shmups with better graphics and more depth than that thing.

Yet this year we have about twice that amount at my count, not just on PS2 and DC but we also have other games like Sigma Star Saga (we seriously need more wide release games like this with shooter elements which compliment the main game) We have gotten more shooters since the last generation, titles like Gradius V and Sigma show not only a resurge in interest, but a conscious effort on the part of some devs to try at least a few new things with the genre.

BTW, I've always wondered if your sig is supposed to make me laugh or something? Just curious.

This pretty much ends the discussion right here. Plus in addition to its large back library, it still has more recent shooters you cannot get on any other system (outside of the arcade) like Border Down (and if we are fortunate, Under Defeat). Plus, last time I checked, my Jap PS2 didn't have any VGA support and I don't feel like going through the hassle of having the video out modified.

  6. WHOA, so not 3 but 5 or 6? wow

I agree, we need more games with mediocre adventure and shooting parts

Yeah, 5 or 6 in one year for an "older" type of game? All I'm saying is that's pretty good considering it's constantly referred to as "a dead genre nobody wants to invest in anymore."

And borrowing a bit of thought from Seth, an epic, big budget Square RPG with shooting side missions would smoke.

So is that about (like 5) or exactly (as in 6), math wizard? And most of them are mediocre.

Tiger Woods is married to a hot swedish model and you're not (but maybe you'd rather not be anyways). "Like," x2 for him.

How the fuck do you figure. I modded my ps2 with tape and a piece of plastic. I can now play backups and imports. Not to mention PS1 games.

    YOU LOST BITCH!
