It is both. Yoshi just has a very narrow definition of platformer.
i allways thought it was an action platformer. or does that not exist?

You can tell NZE and I have had this discussion before.
Mario and Sonic are platformers.
Mega Man is in the action genre with Castlevania, Contra, and Metal Slug, even though it couldn't shine those series' shoes.
And, yes, my definition is pretty narrow. Gray areas are for pussies.
At least this I agree with. I like some of the Megaman games but have always thought the series was way overpraised.Originally Posted by Yoshi
Well if it means anything, the X series has never done anything for me, but I really enjoyed this one. It has alot of the charm & cohesion the series has lacked up until now; definitely the best game I've played in the X series. I'd put it a notch below Dawn of Sorrow in the recently released portable sidescroller sweepstakes.

Aside from Final Fantasy, Mega Man is probably the most overrated series in all of gaming.
Not even Mega Man 2?Originally Posted by Yoshi
