FUN FACT: 95% of Americans celebrate christmas.

It's closer to 80-90%, but again, this isn't the point. America was founded on many different things, the ability to celebrate what religion you want was one of the biggies. America is a melting pot of culture, go to any shopping plaza and you can usually see just about someone from every aspect of the globe in terms of heritage, does this mean because that christians are the majority, we have to make everyone else go that way? Of course not, we were built on tolerance, and to go backwards in regard to this is utter bullshit.

Nobody should flip out over Happy Holidays. That is a great saying.

Getting offended over "Merry Christmas" or "Happy Kwanzaa" or "Happy Tchshchanooka" or thinking people will be offended by any of them is retarded.

The way we celebrateChristmas is American tradition and nobody is above it.

None of the other holidays are national holidays, and none of them are American tradition. You don't have to participate, but you better fucking get used to it.

PS: And yes, if I was in a country where everybody was Jewish, I would expect everybody to celebrate Chanukah. I would celebrate the birth of Santa with my family, but I wouldn't expect anybody to bend over backwards to accomodate me, and I wouldn't be offended by peaceful traditions that were around before I was born and will be around for long after.

LOL at the people in this thread defending Christmas. The whole point of the video is that nobody is attacking Christmas and it is well established in our society. Now, you could argue that there is little religion left in the holiday, but that isn't a result of some group or peoples trying to remove religion, its just the general apathy of society and the pressure put on to consume and purchase durring this season. The news is trying to make up a store out of something that is non-existant. I can't belive I'm defending Bush but I think it was a good idea to send out a card saying Happy Holidays. Didn't the dude send out like a million cards? I'm almost certain not all those million people celebrate Christmas, some are likely jewish, and it just seems to be a hell of a lot cheaper to make one card (not because non-christmas people would be offended, just because it seems Curtious). This is a non-issue.

No, its actually a quoted statistic that 95% of america celebrates christmas, I didn't say 95% of America is Christian.

No, if someone says "happy holidays" and you flip out and consider it an attack on Christmas and the values of the country and blah blah blah, you need something new to get offended about because that's a pretty lame choice.

If someone tells you to stop saying "merry Christmas" because it's offensive, you've got a reason to be pissed. If someone says "happy holidays" and you get pissed, you're just being uptight and stupid. But maybe that isn't apparent to someone like yourself.

It's not about "happy holidays," its about the fact that christmas is being shunned around the nation, because 5% of the population doesn't celebrate it. Fuck them. Just recently, there was a "giving tree" in a gradeschool, where children could donate to the "less fortunate" children around the state. This shit is Michael Savage grade stupid. There is NO 'War on Christmas', no one is going into your house to steal your Christmas tree, piss on your presents, or throw your decorative crucifix in the toilet.

If you don't like shops or malls 'de-Christmasfying' don't shop there, and get your uptight 'holier than thou' friends to stop doing it to. After all, aren't you only suppose to be buying American anyway? That means you can kill two ideological birds with one stone everytime you drive past a Wal-Mart (which should be around once a minute).

Does the fact that your school kid can't worship the capitalist edifice based upon a holiday used by the ancient Christian Church to entice pagan Europeans to convert and really his no connection to the true Christian canon really annoy you? No? You don't actually have kids you just get huffy when you read something about de-Christing in schools? Well, whatever the case, your best bet there is to petition the school board! That's right! Getting involved in local government can do wonders!

Why, you could even fly in the face of common sense and scientific logic and have your own personal religious beliefs taught alongside established science if you just PUT IN THE TIME TO LOBBY YOUR RHETORIC!
