they have tunnelers. you dont HAVE to use live. tho the competition will be less it might be a more mature group (considering they bothered to mod their systems).

They're not. And 90% of the gametypes are retarded. I'll stick with live thanks.

    I hear ya brother...

I want to play Day of Defeat but I'm holding out for Team Fortress 2.... if they ever get off their asses and start kicking this in to high gear. I'm starting to wonder if they even know how to begin to top a game like Team Fortress, because it was so balanced the first time around.

I'd be happy with a new bunch of well-tested maps and updated graphics and weapon effects at this point.

  4. Star Wars: Battlefront 2 is alright. It has a first person mode, plus the space battles offer a nice change of pace.

  5. Don't bother with UT2k4. I loved playing Deathmatch, but the main server is devoid of players. CS:S was the best thing I've played (I don't play it anymore), but only if you can find a nice server.

  6. Day of Defeat: Source is my PC FPS of choice lately. It's a really, really enjoyable game. If you pick it up (or download it off of Steam, which is cheaper), I'd be happy to play with you.

    Haha.

I've been tempted to pick up that Halo triple pack a few times recently. Still waiting for a price drop, though.
Buy Yakuza and Oblivion. Help yourself, help TNL.

    I'd be happy to.

Strange that I have yet to find an FPS on PC that's anywhere near as fun as this game. I have yet to try UT2004, though.

And I may get DoD:S just because I think Source is dead sexy.

Did you have the same problem with BF2?

And does DoD:S still only have like four maps?

  8. Can't go wrong with CS:S and DoD:S.
Sucks about BF2. It did take a ton of work to get it up and running right for me and alot of other people i know, which is flat out rediculous, but its 100% worth it. It craps on every other online FPS except Team Fortress Classic.

Which reminds me - there is a TFC mod for HL2 in the works that looks super awesome.

I'm addicted as fuck to CS:S. So much in fact, that it's hard to play any other game. My suggestion to you, is to get half life 2. There are new mods coming out everyday, in addition to CS. If you have a microphone, and can find a good server with lots of custom maps (that don't suck) I don't think there is a better gaming experience. I play on a seattle server with alltalk on and lots of custom made maps that are like real maps, not just AWP_ARENAb21 or anything. Do it.

  10. Was FEAR multiplayer any good? I haven't bothered yet but I heard it was pretty fun.

Currently I'm playing Tron 2.0 and Scrapland, but, uh, those don't really help the subject.
