Neal Boortz is the same on all accounts, and is STILL a right-wing douchebag, as is Hendrie. They're both jingoistic morons who masquerade under the banner of libertarianism. Atleast Boortz is passionate about something worthwhile (fair tax) even though he takes it to the extreme sometimes (unrestricted capitalism rallies, etc.).

Hendrie just takes breaks between his regurgiated skits to poke fun at Democrats who oppose the war, any derogatory stereotype he can conjure up for Arabic peoples and Mexican immigrants, and of course he loves to be on the 'make fun of Hillary' bandwagon (if she wasn't a source of comedy enough on her own). The man is the worst of both worlds; talking head pundit and unfunny talk radio personality.
    Time for a change

Perhaps my choice of wording was poor. Maybe they weren't segueing into stand up but they often times did seem to be segueing into pre-existing jokes that didn't easily tie into what they were discussing. I'm not saying that this happened constantly but it seemed to happen with enough regularity for me to take notice. I could be wrong but this is how many of their jokes came off to me. It was still funny, I still watched the show, just a small gripe.
I thought you were gay.... i guess not.

You must not listen to Hendrie very much, as he's openly a democrat (not libertarian) and says he'll probably vote for Hillary (I don't hold it against him). He's the posterboy for the democratic party aside from the war, he's practically a socialist. You can't just take everyone that supports the war and call them libertarians.

I'm not kidding when I say this: I literally didn't think there was a person on this earth that listened to that show, let along found it "hilarious" or "brilliant", let along knew the host's political beliefs. Jesus Christ, when that type of cornball shit has a following the apocalypse is near.

    No offense.

He's drawing in all the self righteous assholes that patrol the radio with the FCC on speeddial to make sure nobody is exposed to indecency, and making them lose their minds arguing with imaginary people. He's doing it all by himself. He's got over 40 distinct characters in his head, and can hold a conversation with 4 of them at the same time and you wouldn't even know it was the same guy doing all the voices if he didn't announce it at the beginning of the show. How funny would any of these other radio people be if you took away their Artie's, Robins, Norton's, etc. and made them do a one man show, with no real guests, just the people that call in for 3 hours a day?
Yeah, the guy is a machine. He does all these characters and does the show alone. I respect that, I just don't enjoy it.

To not find Phil Hendrie's sense of humor funny (I can see why some people don't, it's in the same vein as the Three Stooges and a little too zany/outrageous for some) is one thing, but to call the guy a hack is just plain silly. To be able to believably do a 40+ character show all by yourself believably takes tremendous talent, and all kinds of legendary comedians like George Carlin and yes Howard Stern make the pilgrimage to watch Phil do his show.
Yeah, the guy is talented, no doubt. He is good at what he does, but all of his jokes are very pedestrian. For all the talent he has in doing voices and having fun with dumb callers, he should hire a writer or two to feed him lines IMO.

Again, you have to take your hat off to him, he is talented at what he does. It just isn't for me.

God damn, that shit was great! I heard that XM was going to be on Direct TV, but I assumed you would have to pay for it, I'm glad that's not the case.

Right now I'm listening to Ron and Fez, it really is fucking great to hear them again.
