Thread: Howard Stern's Last Day

  1. Wow, Master, if what you said is true about the blacklisting and ripping-off thing, then that's a real douchebag move on Howard's part. Now I understand the vindictive bitterness O&A fans have toward him.

Well, I picked up Sirius because, despite the FCC muzzling, I still enjoyed the show and am looking forward to hearing an uncensored version of it. It's a moment of truth for Howard. For years, he's been complaining that he couldn't do the show he wants because of the incessant censoring, but now that he was free reign, he'll have to prove to everyone that he still has it.

There's promise with some of the material that's developed now (Howard 100 News and Meet the Shrink), but I wonder how he's going to fill two channels worth of content. Even with the E! show reruns, there's a lot of time to cover.

For real? I didn't know this. I just assumed that he was doing his usual M-F gig year-round like usual.

That's not it at all. In order to enjoy Tough Crowd you had to accept that these guys were uninformed asses whose political opinions didn't matter, and just enjoy the humor of it.

It's Monday-Thurday now, and he gets 12 weeks of vacation a year. Which won't be consecutive, but it still adds up to him only doing 9 months.

You know, I broke it down, and Howard will be getting payed $156,250 an hour for his Sirius gig.

Colin's honestly very good on stage. He just can't speak off the cuff worth shit. Same for Vos.

make sure to set the fm frequency to a channel that doesnt have a broadcast already (static only channel) it will sound a bit better that way

I LIED! Through a most excellent online coupon I was able to score a Delphi roadie XT for free with three months prepaid service. You also have to keep it on another 3 months (6 total) or you get charged a $60 early-termination fee. I ended up getting two more for random family members (each at 6.99 a month) and picking up a home kit for my xt. This thing is so small, it's about the size of a cassette tape. It doesn't have a huge display or recording features but I can just go right into the line-in on my Archos if I want to record/time shift content.

I did notice holiday shopping that the Sirius displays seemed to be hit hard, everyone needs their goddamn howie (or NFL) I guess. The joke is on them, as the audio is more compressed than XM, the hardware is bigger and there's no way you're gonna get something as small as a roadie xt for free.

I'm experiencing the same...got Sirius from my Dad for Xmas and have it hooked up directly to an Aux in adapter to my car's headunit. The direct connection does make a difference, but the sound is still nowhere near CD quality. It even sounds much worse than the 192KB files on my MP3 player.

Stern better be good, otherwise subscription=cancelled.
