I resigned from my job, last day of work is decmeber 28th. I feel so horrible, i know it's the right thing i did, but i still feel like shit. I dont have anything lined up, but expecting something very soon.

i'll miss all the great people i worked with(excluding my boss), but i guess my career is the priority here!

kuro, i'm a marketing major, but got assigned a spectrum licensing(technical job that deals with wireless communication and frequencies) job(it's whole different ball game from marketing). I work for a telecom regulatory, kindda like what the FCC is to the U.S.

well it's the cause of many things, not just one factor that made me give in my resignation(dec 28th is my last day). I have a very demanding boss, that wants everyone in his department to work 3,4,...5 hours past the working hour, see i cant stand that shit. we work from 7am till 3pm, and this guy gives us work by the end of the day and expects us to stay in the office till 6 or 7pm(or more) getting work done. once or twice a week is no big deal, but when it comes a habbit and is constantly happening, it makes me very angry! let alone my boss is extremly dry, cold and unfreindly. he's not very approachable, he's got that "i'm a boss, so respect me and kiss my ass" typa' attitude which i fucking cannot stand!

my boss has no life, all he does is work like machine, he doesnt even have time for his family, he practically lives in an airplane traveling from one conference to another, or he spends hours in his office past everyone in the office.

ofcourse, what i mention above is only one of the factors. the other(plus other shit that i wont bother type cuz it will take forever) is im doing an engineering job that i feel im not benefiting from, plus i wanted to work with something in my field, marketing or anything related to business. Our regulatory doesnt sell any products, so we dont market anything to begin with.

at first when i joined i worked in the strategy and policy department(which was ok with me), my boss was an american lady, she was on a contract for 2 years to kick stat the regulatory(it was just established), but little did i know that she was a bitch from the vortex of hell! i had problem after problem with her, she was extremly rude and not very understanding! i got into arguments with her practically every week! ...i mean seriously she THE BITCHEST CUNT I HAVE EVER SEEN IN MY LIFE!!! she was always in a bad mood, and had a very rude sarcastic attitude! anyways, long story short, the gerneral manager(good friends with my family) did me a favor and shifted me to "Spectrum Management" ....all was ok for the first month, then everything started going downhill! i have been working there for an year and 2 months, and my dickhead boss still didn't confirm me! i was considered a trainee....god know for how long.....long story short, i felt i wasnt moving along, stuck in the same place, and not benefiting from being in spectrum(annoying technical job).....so i said enough is enough, i can't take this shit, so fuck it i'm quiting!

i'm expecting to hear from another job soon, so there is still hope. *fingers crossed*

It's great to be able to walk away from a shitty job.
It baffles me that so many people keep working for assholes, earning half of what they should, and doing everybody elses work, just because they're afraid they'll end up broke and unemployed.
It's not that hard to save up a months' worth of living expenses and then just quit.
I don't know what the job market is like in UAE, but where I live, anyone who isn't retarded could find a decent job within a few weeks.
