Personally, I wouldn't recommend Itunes. Whenever I burned cds and mp3 cds for my car it always sounded horrible, then I found out that Itunes converts all audio to some mega-lossy codec during import.
I stick with VLC media player now. Sure it's ugly... but it doesn't slaughter my mp3 collection.

There are loads of neat addons for adiumx too. I personally like the 'Tokyo Train Station' soundset (when adiumx is set to make sounds).

Powerbook still hasn't hit G5. The Intel-chipped ones would have them, I do believe.
