iTunes is really awesome if you're in to the whole music thing.

  5. Personally, I wouldn't recommend Itunes. Whenever I burned cds and mp3 cds for my car it always sounded horrible, then I found out that Itunes converts all audio to some mega-lossy codec during import.

I stick with VLC media player now. Sure it's ugly... but it doesn't slaughter my mp3 collection.

  6. Adium is awesome, dakidski. Thanks. I agree with iTunes, by the by, and am a fan of VLC from the PC version. It will be downloaded!

  7. There are loads of neat addons for adiumx too. I personally like the 'Tokyo Train Station' soundset (when adiumx is set to make sounds).

Is powerbook g4 or g5? I use a g5 build of Firefox thats real snappy and very stable: http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewtopic.php?t=256517

Powerbook still hasn't hit G5. The Intel-chipped ones would have them, I do believe.
