Help with 360 Wirless Adapter

I know there has been a thread on this, but I need a bit more help then what has already been said.

So I got my 360 connected to the network, but when the 360 is connected, it disconnects one of the computers. Vice versa, when I am on my 360 and someone logs onto their computer, it disconnects the 360.

Now someone had mentioned a way to assign an ip address to the 360 through the router, but I have no idea on how to go about doing this. Any help would greatly be apprectiated.
