Kano and I downloaded PoP2, and he sat down to seriously play it while I watched, and we fucking stopped after 15 minutes. The Godsmack music getting played on a loop and the generic darkness of the whole thing was fucking wretched. If I remember correctly, the loading screens even had dripping blood or something really gay and cheesy.

The fact that we only touched the game for 15 minutes is normal, but not when you consider that Kano said in his TNL review of PoP1 "Only one thing is perfect in this world, and that one thing is Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time." Our disappointment in the sequel cannot be fully expressed in mortal words.

I do remember it looking super hot at E3, but it's too bad you have to deal with all the teen angst bullshit to ever get to the awesome platform/action parts. They totally killed the series with the second game, even if it had slightly higher sales. No one came back for the third.

Ahh its okay, I picked Vampire The Masquerade as GOS when I went to E3 in 2000. I bought it and returned it the same week.

You really can't differentiate between signal and noise at E3.

Incidentally, I did download the third game last week. It's good. They could have had my money for it had Warrior Within not made me swear off buying Ubisoft games.

I'm trying to get through Warrior Within right now... I made it past the shitty art direction but the game is nowhere near as polished and charming as the first. Playing it has definitely become a chore.

Just skip it. It sucks. You'd be doing yourself a favor to just pick up TTT and play it instead. It's pretty much what WW should have been.
