"Chuy, you're going to have a magical life. Because no matter where you go, it's always going to be better than Tucson."
Could be. I've had to watch the trailer about 10 times to try to see everything. I think I'm going to buy this at lunch.
Well I bought it at lunch, so I'll check it out this weekend. In other news, also while I was at Borders, I went through their tv boxsets and mixed among them was this:
This is a collection of 70's grindhouse/exploitation Sukeban films and here are links to their trailers, in shitty quicktime:
Criminal Woman: Killing Melody
Terrifying Girls' High School: Lynch Law Classroom
Girl Boss Guerilla
Delinquent Girl Boss: Worthless To Confess
Interesting.
HAWT.
OMG <3 4EVA
Scourge:Azumanga Daioh is exactly the same thing as Ninja Scroll.
buttcheeks: High school so weird

The pinky violence box is limited to 10K copies and is already almost sold out
Hmm... I really liked the movie. I saw it at the Fantasia festival last year, then picked it up on DVD a couple of months ago from yesasia.com. Its kind of a silly chick flick, but with a great sense of style and humour. BUT I tried watching it with my girlfriend's siblings, and her brother was almost falling asleep during it. I guess it is somewhat slow paced in parts (he did however enjoy Public Enemy (a Korean police/murder movie), but I like it enough that the slow parts just don't bother me.Originally Posted by Scourge
It'd probably be like a 7.5/10 or so...
Is the US DVD already out? Stupid Viz not sending me a copy yet for review.
The movie is awesome, depending on what you like. It plays up on a lot of Japanese street culture, though, so if you aren't into/familiar with Lolita fashion and the Yankee lifestyle, you'll going to miss out on a decent number of the jokes. At that point, if you like wacky Asian movies, you can still appreciate it - if you're more into the action/kung-fu kind of stuff, you'll probably be bored.
WARNING: This post may contain violent and disturbing images.
It's got pretty colors. And Kyoko Fukada.
Saw this last year in NY, it's a fun, light kind of movie. Basically what shidoshi and zerokool said. It's sweet, funny, stylish, a little slow here and there, but not enough to be really bothersome, and you'll appreciate the jokes more if you have some awareness of Japanese trends and fashion and such.
