Thread: DJMax Portable

  1. DJMax Portable

Anyone know anything about this? It's made by a Korean company called Pentavision that also produce the PC version. P-Asia got it in already and I have ordered it. Any impressions from someone who has it already or has played it? I will post some when it arrives. Preview vid looks pretty good, like a IIDX clone or something and seemingly well-produced.

    Not much info out there:

and a BMS thread with no info yet...

  2. I heard about this a couple days ago. I'm trying to find the ISO online so I can give it a try but its not available.

Those videos are insane...I can barely see the bars

  3. Ooooooh... that's pretty. I might have to pick that up, after I hear some impressions.

  4. DJMAX official page - a ton of song samples!

    DJMAX Wiki page

looks pretty good, and some of them songs are catchy. saw the listing at P-Asia a few weeks ago but didn't think too much about it at the time. but that was because i didn't know what it was. if it's good, i might consider dropping some cash down for it.

  5. If anyone here has played any of the EZ2DJ games, this will seem very familiar. A lot of people on the dev. team worked on the EZ2DJ games, and they also have many of the same musicians. It shows in everything from the game mechanics to the music to the look and feel of the videos (although all Korean anime looks the same).

What was also amusing was on the very early versions of the game, if you got perfect scores on certain songs (either the easiest or most difficult ones) you would get kicked from the game (because the game thought you were a bot?)... and then after that tomfoolery I got banned. :x

I can not see this game working on a PSP. It would be like trying to play IIDX on a dual shock, only worse.

  6. Depends on how good you are. If you try to get into the expert levels, it could be a bit tough. If you are the type of player who is good, but not great, at a game like this, you might be fine.

My first experience with Pop'n was on Dreamcast, and I played it just fine with the regular Dreamcast controller. I wouldn't try to go to serious level of the game that way, but it can still be fun.

  7. My introduction to Beatmania was the Wonderswan port. I think I could get into this.

  8. Does anyone know where this game can be bought from?

Unfortunately for me Play Asia won't ship PSP games to Europe, thanks to Sony's bullying.

    Thanks.

  9. Try ncsx.com, lik-sang.com, lan-kwei.com?

  10. Aww doh, I thought this would be some sorta DJing music type game, just looks like a DDR type game to me(which I'm not really into).

I also get cracked up at some of the styles of music names they slapped on some of the tracks. Beer house? Korians must not know what a certain style music is either, but I dug some of the drum n bass stuff they had.
