    Actually, it's correct. For example with DV, DV files are ungodly huge. I ripped a DVD I have into DV - the runtime on the final video file for the rip is 34 minutes, and the size of the DV file is 13.7GB. DV is uncompressed to any point, so you need a lot of room to work with it.

    I don't know how the HD video cams work, but I wouldn't be surprised if it is a similar situation.
