Could you provide a bit more detail?
Like, is it just darkened, or completely black?
Is the discoloration uniform, or is it more intense in the middle?
That sort of thing.
You could try massaging the pixels, I guess.
I think I screwed up a screen over here. I moved it, and it was pressing into a spot against a keyboard while I moved it. 3 days later, there is a dark splotch in the image where the keyboard was pressing. Any way to reverse this? Is it hopeless?

It is not totally black. It is darkened. The distortion is uniform....with hazy edges fading back to normal. It's a spot the size of a fingertip.
can you degauss an lcd?
It sounds like the lcd pixel cells ruptured or something, in which case you're pretty much fucked.
Of course, I'm just guessing, and could be completely wrong.
LCDs aren't affected by magnetic fields like CRTs, so degaussing wouldn't help.Originally Posted by Dragonmaster Dyne
