Thread: Tapwave Zodiac 2

  1. Tapwave Zodiac 2

In case anyone needs a Palm-device or collects failed gaming platforms:

They are sold as 'demo' models, but according to the article they haven't been outside the warehouse.

  2. I have not followed the Tapwave platform, but are there emulators out there for it? If so, it could be a good system just to play all the old games.

  3. yeah, gamingwise I use: ScummVm, Flashback (the old pc game), Nethack (and clones), Castaway (atari st emu), Magnetic Scrolls & Infocom interpreters, C64, Amiga (although its not very good), Noiz2sa, Spectrum and several more.

It also have a very popular multi-emu 'LJP' which is currently being rewritten from scratch.

It covers pretty much all the old consoles.
    - Nintendo Entertainment System (NES)
    - Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES)
    - Nintendo Gameboy/Gameboy Color (GB/GBC)
    - Sega Genesis/Megadrive
    - Sega Master System (SMS)
    - Sega Game Gear (GG)
    - Bandai Wonderswan/Wonderswan Color (WS)
    - NeoGeo Pocket/NeoGeo Pocket Color (NGP)

For gba emulation you can use the commercial Firestorm. There is also a psx emu, but I haven't bothered trying it. The native Zodiac games, some of which are now freeware, are also pretty entertaining.

I primarily use mine for the Palm Datebook, jpg & mp3, ie. all the boring stuff.

  4. Hmm, did anyone get one from this deal yet? I'm about to order one but I'd like some feedback.

  5. Eh after reading up on the tapland forums a bit I decided to just snag one on eBay. Waiting 4-6 weeks doesn't sound very appealing.

  6. Oooh, ScummVm? I could play Grim Fandango and Sam & Max on it? *drool*

Does anyone know if there is a good Neo Geo console emulator for it? I remember someone on another board saying that they were working on one for it a few years ago. If I could play some KOF and Metal Slug on it, I'd probably break down and buy it.
