When did you think they ruined Deadpool? I think the second Agent X ended was when Deadpool got dull and lifeless. Of course, you may think much earlier than that. I was more after the comedic values, so that's where our opinions may differ.

Well, he was introduced in X-Factor, I believe, and he was awesome there. Then he had two 4-issue mini series, both of which were very cool (especially the second one). They gave his character a little depth while still keeping him a bad-ass killer.

When do I think they ruined Deadpool? The very first issue of his regular series, that's when. Previously, Deadpool would kill anyone, for any reason, with no problem. But in issue one of his own book, suddenly he got a conscience. He didn't want to kill people any more. He'd risk his life to save others. He wanted to reform himself and be a good guy. And thus, Deadpool started to suck instantly.

As the series went on, it only got worse. The stories got way too campy and silly. Deadpool became an even bigger pussy- I mean, he wouldn't even shoot or stab people anymore. Yeah, he was still funny, but it was his humor combined with his cold-blooded killer persona that I was into. This "clean" version of DP just came across as a lame Spiderman wanna-be. I gave up and stopped it reading ages ago.

Are you talking about the Joe Kelly Deadpool issues? If so, I disagree entirely.

They injected a personality into him instead of a generic cold blooded assassin and the conscience and humor were great additions since it made for really good character moments. It was also his way of coping with things which in a way is similar to Spider-Man but much darker and he's waaaaay funnier than Spider-Man will ever be.

I mean c'mon, how can you possibly hate scenes like this?

Yeah, the comic's funny and all, but his singing "blood blood blood" is stupid since he doesn't ever kill anyone.

He had a personality before. The humor was nothing new, it was there since the Deadpool first debuted. Adding a little conscience is fine but not to the point that it totally changes the character. Go look at his two mini-series. They managed to give him some depth while having him kill dozens of people. Now he's just a "mean" version of Spiderman.

You like him like this? Cool. To me, he's a totally different character.
