95% of the economic "news" that you see printed is bullshit for one very simple reason. These media outlets want to draw comparisons between two data points and claim that the outcome is important. Guess what... when you compare two data points, the second one will be higher about half the time and lower about half the time. More context is needed to draw comparisons. It applies to unemployment rates and video game revenue. Unfortunately, the average American is too stupid to understand the concept and, thus, eats up whatever worthless "analysis" accompanies the misuse of data.
