There really isn't a huge reason that people feel that way. Man has always felt that way about life. It seems to be part of his natural out look on the world. Well maybe not ALL men, but enough have always felt that way. literature has been recording "OMG Society is Crumbling" feelings for a very very long time. We always focus in on the negative changes of society, be it some War somewhere or some group of people not being ethical enough.

My 2 cents: Abortion isn't an easy decision, it's not like the woman skips on down to the clinic without any agonizing over the decision. Anyone that can decide to have one is really sure that they can't properly raise a kid, and they know their situation infinitely better than any third party possibly could, so who are you to second guess them? As for the very small percentile that can go through abortions with little thought about it, there's no way someone that would do that would be suitable to raise a child.

If abortion was not an option, I can guarantee there'd be a increase in infanticide. How much I don't know, but given the choice of a million fetuses aborted before they've developed enough to be fully cognizant versus one baby starving to death in a dumpster, feeling the agonizing pain of hunger until they die... You better damn believe I'd pick the former every time.
