There are people in this country with nothing better to do than complain to the government.

I remember one of the alt-weeklies around here interviewed this guy who would tape all the morning shows off the radio every morning, searching for anything vaugely offensive that he could jump on and report to the authorities. A no-life jagoff hermit.

Who in their right mind would seek out material that they were offended by, and why would such a person have credibility.

I think it's time to end the FCC's ability to regulate content. It's obsolete.

It's not illegal to wiretap without a warrant in cases of suspected fraud or now, because of the patriot act, suspected terrorism.

Not indefiniately, the FISA court allows for a 72 hour wiretap without a warrant before the evidence must be reviewed and a warrant is issued. It's because the Bush administration ignored this that they broke the law and should be censured.

That's the first I've heard of it. Amazing what people with no life can do for you.

I just don't get that there are so many people who can't deal with that fact that there is such thing as an "off" button.

Such "jagoff hermits" should be required by law to have the V-Chip in their TVs turned on at all times, with anything above a TV-G rating blocked out. That the FCC wants cable and satellite stations to be subject to restrictions is appalling. Don't like the programming on these channels? Don't subscribe to them.

I think the broadcasters need to start openly criticizing the FCC on the airwaves. This Kevin Martin apparently wants us to return to an era before Gone With The Wind hit theaters. He probably would try to ban even "Frankly my dear, I don't give a damn".

Funny thing is I've just been reading Hound of the Baskervilles that was written in like 1920 and there's a minor character just like this, only instead he sues people and the government for any and all percieved infractions. I think as long as the human race exists, we'll be stuck with these jerks.
