They also added a bunch of useless palette swapped characters like Rain, Ermac, Noob Saibot, and Jade. I think they put human Smoke back in there too. And yeah, Brutalities were new but not all that awesome. Topping it off was a bunch of new backgrounds.

Rain was only in MK Trilogy on the PSX. You can still see him in the UMK3 Intro, though.
Noob Saibot is only playable in MK Trilogy. He's but a hidden boss in UMK3.
Kitana, Reptile, Scorpion, and Jade were the new playables.
Mileena, Classic Sub-Zero, and Ermac were unlockable with codes.
Human Smoke was a button code over his cyborg brother.

All in all, UMK3 was probably the easiest game ever to release. This makes me want to buy MK Trilogy again, though.

EDIT: Forgot. Rain and Noob were both in the Genesis and SNES versions of UMK3 as neutered versions of themselves. Also, for those who don't know, Ermac was a bug in MK1. His name stands for ERror MAChine. Heheh.

I forgot I had MK Trilogy. I decided to play it for the hell of it. I forgot how much MK FUCKING owns. Now, my friend and I have been playing constantly.
