Thread: 80's Anime

  1. 80's Anime

I have this obsession for 80's anime. I was wondering if there was anyone who could recommend me something I haven’t seen that was made in the 80's. Since I've seen so many I can only post the few I've seen off the top of my head...

    Area 88 (Original)
    Megazone
    Vampire Hunter D
    Fist of the North Star
    Riding Bean
    Golgo 13
    Robotech
    Zeta Gundam
    Galaxy Express 999
    Captain Harlock

Those are the few I can name off the top of my head. Any recommendations?

  2. Was Ranma 80's or 90's?

  3. Galaxy Express is actually 70's. The TV series was made in 1978 and the first movie was released in 79.

The over imaginative Ninja's fought the rum filled pirates untill battle drew to a close.

  4. Super Dimensional Fortress Macross!

If you don't mind romantic comedies, I highly recommend Kimagure Orange Road.

    Also, same category, Maison Ikkoku.

Ranma started in 1989. The first 3 or 4 seasons are great.

Nah. Both are actually really well done as far as being pretty touching experiences as far as romance goes. There's some overboard humor here and there, but these are definitely made with the male in mind (read: not shoujo/girl type).

In fact, the first episodes of KOR are pretty badass in the Sukeban type stuff (schoolgirl gang/delinquent type stuff). Madoka is a badass.

  10. The original Appleseed is a decent enough movie. That shite got me hooked.
