I enjoy it the same way I enjoy Survivor. You have to be willing to suspend your disbelief to enjoy it.

Pickler is the most commercial - but She's a me too of Clarkson and Underwood.

Taylor should win, but he's too left field to garner any support from people who wear Ambercrombie & Finch and listen to top 40 radio.

Mandissa has an awesome voice, but won't be as commercial as Pickler because she doesn't have the looks.

Paris reminds me of those annoying straight A everything kids in HS who have stage moms - she has talent - it's hard to tell whether she'll go to the end or not.

There have been 3 people from my city that has made it far on American Idol: Ruben Studdard, Bo Bice, and Taylor Hicks. I only really paid any attention to the show when Ruben was performing since the local media pretty much shoved him down our throats at every waking moment (much more than the latter two). I've barely watched it since then. It all seems so manufactured to me (I guess that's the point, heh), and I'm either out, watching something else, or gaming when it's on.

They pretty much treated Ruben as a god here in the months after the show, however since his appearance on Scooby Doo Movie 2, he's pretty much faded into relative obscurity. The only other thing that has happened with Ruben since then is him filing a lawsuit against the local company that was printing the "205" shirts that he briefly made popular. I don't think many of the American Idol contestants will have long music carreers, maybe just a prolonged 15 minutes of fame.
