Good point, for the most part. But some things like soundtrack CDs end up being far cheaper there than online. And you never know when you'll stumble over something cool that you normally wouldn't be looking for.

If nothing else, it gives me the chance to shoulder-check annoying cosplayers.

Yeah, if anything I found the Bone One Volume Edition for $37 no tax. Very nice, especially being that its OoP. Everything else is ridiculously overpriced or not discounted heavily enough for me to care.
Media Blasters is more than awesome as usual, though. I've gotta say, every con I see them at shows that they're really trying to throw a few bones to their fans. Hell, they even save money by getting their staff to man the tables. Bullshitting with them can lead to hilarity, especially at AnimeNext.

You should've seen the shit I saw last night. I voluteered to help a friend with the ANIMU KARAOKE. I knew it would be horrendous. I thought I'd have fun making fun of shit. I did not know it would be this bad...
All in the same hour, I herded childish men and women (and actual children) in costumes to signing up for anime karaoke, wrote "ANIMU MUSIC KEKEKEKEKEKEKEKEKEKE..." on the blackboard extending all the way to the end, listened to these people sing songs in Japanese HORRIBLY, and ran from my ex when my friend told me he saw her coming in my direction.. OH, GOD IT WAS HORRIBLE!!! I had to run out in the middle of this retarded f-chan singing some Inu Yasha song or something. I litterally RAN out the door, stood at the door and heaved in a sarcastic breath of fresh air. Horrible. It's a shame my ex showed up, 'cause I was going to grab the mic and shout random Japanese comapny and brand names into it in a melodic manner at the end of the event.
Hey, it makes about as much sense to them as the Japanese in the songs does, right?
