When did people start referring to the second World War as "WW11"?

Last I checked, the accepted names for that included the Second World War, World War 2, World War II (as in roman numeral 2).

New and easier? I suppose in a logical fashion 1 + 1 is 2.

I'll add it to my terminology, begrudgingly.
