Thread: Sometimes I REALLY hate traffic

  1. I too got stuck in this traffic, as me and Josh were headed to a show in Kent Island. For one reason or another, DC traffic was all fucked up too. It took me 2.5 hours to get home, from Georgetown to Crofton, and I sat at one light for six goddamn cycles.

If everyone drove intelligently, the slowest traffic would ever hit is 40 mph. And by "intelligently," I mean not slowing down to observe an accident scene; not tailgating; not pretending they're Speed Racer; allow someone to merge or change into their lane instead of being a dick and speeding up to prevent them from doing so; etc.
I was discussing this very topic last night with a friend.

You guys should see this, its so stupid.

Or anytime. DC traffic is the absolute worst. I mean, NYC is bad, but if you're in a car, it's your own fault and you deserve the worst.

  3. Traffic around here sucks pretty bad depending on which roads I travel on. When I lived with my mom it would take me nearly 20 minutes to go 1 mile every single day, even worse in the afternoon. There was traffic lights everywhere and once I got on the big and highly trafficked road it would take awhile to go through a light because the lights change every 20 seconds.

Plus for anyone who lives in this area, 476 is a bitch.

  4. houston has some of the worst traffic known to manfuckingkind. Its godamned everywhere and further complicated by the fact that the city decides to do construction on every major freeway/highway and road at the same fucking time. This city is run by douchebags.

Oh, man, I really hate this and when people are sitting at a light and are talking on their phones, to their friends in the car, etc. and take a good ten seconds to actually drive after a light turns green. This and when people stop at an intersection and leave about a car's length or more space between them, just because they can,and then traffic ends up backing into an intersection preventing other people who just got the "green" from getting in creating a 'jam'. I see this almost everday if I work a 5 to close shift.

I was coming back from FDR park last night and 476 was jamed near Center City (as usual). I thought I'd get off and make my way to Kelly Drive to bypass the gridlock. First intersection off the expressway, and I get pulled over for making an apparently illegal right turn on red. $116. And as the officer had me sitting there for 45 minutes I can see that the freeway started moving without much slowdown. Arrrgh!
Driving around Philadelphia is some of the most aggravating in the United States.

I rarely have a problem driving through Manhattan. As long as you know which areas to avoid, you're okay. That said, i'd much rather take a subway.
