Thanks to one person, (ea_spouse), EA was forced to pay out millions of dollars in settlements and have revised their compensation policy.
After the Heroes of Might & Magic demo came out someone organized an online petition to delay it, and it got delayed.
EA has already said they are making a transition from the soulless mouth breathers they are now to a more creative, dynamic development house (like UbiSoft or whatever).
People are organizing petitions and boycotts against StarForce as we speak, I bet at least one big company that uses that hellspawn will drop it by the end of the year.
Everyone on TNL lol'd at that Call of Duty 2 boycott ("omg they already bought the game lols") but guess what, they've been working on patches to fix the problems.
Refraining from purchasing and sending them correspondence about WHY you are refraining from purchasing can do things. It only takes a few such correspondence before managers start looking at the problem. Of course just refraining from purchasing does nothing.
