Thread: Sadness

  1. Why would this game be on rails? Couldn't the candle just be a light source like the flashlight in doom 3.

Well, it's almost got more new IP's than the Gamecube had its entire life. Almost.

Uh no, I don't think so

    Take a look:

New IPs on Gamecube: (I’ve listed them here. If a game is new to the USA, I listed that too, since it’s new to us I also listed a game if it ORIGINATED on Gamecube, even if it was later ported to a different system, since it's quite possible that IP would have never have existed (at least in the exact form we know it) without the Gamecube :-)

Animal Crossing (First time released in the USA – so its NEW to us :-)

    Baten Kaitos

    Battalion Wars

Billy Hatcher and the Giant Egg

    Chibi-Robo

    Cubivore

Custom Robo (First time released in the USA )

    Donkey Konga

    Donkey Kong Jungle Beat

Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles (yes its named Final Fantasy, but it plays differently from all the rest thus it’s a new IP)

Fire Emblem (First time released in the USA on a Console

    Geist

    Giftpia

    Homeland (Online rpg)

    Lost Kingdoms

    Luigi’s Mansion

    Mario Power Tennis

    Mario Superstar Baseball

Metroid Prime [yes its still Metroid, however the style of the gameplay (from 2D side scrolling to First person full 3D) changed so radically, it feels like a different game]

    Odama

    P.N. 03

    Pikmin

    Super Mario Strikers

Super Monkey Ball (first console release for this series See above note)

Viewtiful Joe (Originated on Gamecube See above note)

Viewtiful Joe: Red Hot Rumble (different style of game)

    Wario World

    ..

    On topic:

I hope Revolution doesn't get TOO carried away with "Mature" themed games

Bet you thought no one would ever say that

  3. I wouldn't count any game that has mario or related characters as a new IP. Same with Metroid. Not new.

DOn't bother. Every 3rd game on the GC could have been a new IP and people would have still said "same old shit"

Okay, so for the entire lifespan of the Gamecube you came up with 27 games, 16 of which aren't actually new IPs. Excellent use of the rolleyes emoticon.

Ya rly. And if you go by that rule you could say RE4 = new IP because it's so different lol! No. So most of that list is BS, and the ones that aren't BS almost all suck. I'll give you Super Mario Strikers though.

And how can you even call the sequel to Mario Tennis a new IP?

There are no rules, only consequences.

  9. This shit makes me sad. Sadness makes me happy though. I like artistically-driven games, and I've never played one made in black and white. The concept seems to make good use of the controller, and I'm one of the many surprised by just how many new things we're seeing on the Rev.
