Thread: Network Neutrality

  1. I understand the dangers of network neutrality quite clearly. The thing is, as diffx pointed out, there are other interests at work here. All of this bullshit about "freedom of the internet" or whatever the fuck they're feeding people is obviously effective.

I mean, imagine one day Yoshi wakes up and tries to log on to Stormfront.org and finds out it's really laggy. He'll be totally pissed and have no other resort but to log on to the Foxnews.com website instead all because FOX is controlling his internets!

I personally don't believe people are fit enough to know what they really want. If their peers believe it's bad, then they'll begin to believe it's bad. The opposite also applies of course. How can I be the bad guy when you have corporations all of a sudden sounding concerned about you, the public?

Just be honest with yourselves and admit you're afraid soon you won't be able to steal music and movies as easily as before.
"Chuy, you're going to have a magical life. Because no matter where you go, it's always going to be better than Tucson."

I don't steal much music but I'll be pissed when I can't download movies and TV shows anymore.

And porn. I'm really gonna miss free porn.

I was wondering why the hell you think I'd go to a WoW fansite when I saw Stormfront.org. Then I actually went there...

Right. Besides the fact that it's Yoshi, how is that good again?

Are you fit enough to know what you really want? You'd rather the govt. tell you what you really want?

No, in fact with download speeds steadily increasing, I find it unfair that movies and music are so easy to download. Not to say that I don't do it, but not that much. The production companies just need to find a way to stop it.

Well, not music. CDs are just stupid.
Well that's like, your opinion, man.

What the fuck is up your ass?

  6. Haha it was a playful jab. So now I return the question to you...
Well that's like, your opinion, man.

Honestly, I was trying to remember doing something to you to earn it. There's no doubt that I've done my (and 23 other random members') fair share of dishing it out, but I didn't think you were on the list. It's not like you're napalm or SpoDaddy or some other useful fuck like that.

Actally eBay is pushing FOR network non-neutrality.

Obviously some companies benefit from neutrality, but mostly they are little people that can put their ideas and become successful on the quality of them. They have to pay for bandwidth, though, and storage, and all that shit.

Making it non-neutral would put up a wall where all the big players control it and can set up deals with themselves and keep themselves wealthy.

Nah, not that I recall. I just found it funny that Revolter used you in the example so I thought I'd go along with it. And you're a republican. Whenever I call someone out it's never really malicious. I'm just joking around. I'm not one to take the Internet seriously.

But yeah, if you can dish it out, you gotta take it once in awhile.

I'm really not for having the internet turned into cable TV.

Stealing movies is turning into the only way to watch them, and purchasing music doesn't support the artists. They may be technically classified as illegal but I hardly see how either is wrong considering how the situations are handled.

    The real problem.
