Seriously, the incessant bitching that Rare gave DK a tie has got to be the biggest non-complaint in TNL history.
In DK's defense a lot of 3D game designs looked like shit back then, but Rare, for some reason, never outgrew this.

Go ahead and find any pre-94 DK art that's remotely aesthetically appealing.
Like I said, feel free to hate the tie or the Rare design, but let's not pretend that there was any DK character to ruin. If anything, Rare should be applauded for taking a forgotten Nintendo classic and bringing him back into the limelight, your opinion of the game itself notwithstanding.
