what do you mean by holding them "down"? like...keeping square in check or what?

Something like that. I forgot where i read it exactly, but it seems like it was a few of places. Something about more games they wanted made, but Enix said no.
Still, this isn't that bad. Remember Square was reeling from Spirits Within for quite a while, and a lot of people were speculating that the Square side was pretty much dead. After the first Kingdom Hearts, there was a whole lot of nothing many people cared for until KH2 4 years later, and then FF XII was just a few months later. And now... we have Mana and a whole lot of Final Fantasy, which might fare the same. Hey, 4 years from now, we'll have something nice again, maybe.

Well, at least one site is saying that the E3 games announced so far are only part of the list. So...

I didn't realize DQ:Yangus was a Mysterious Dungeon game when I mentioned it earlier. Forget it, it can stay in Japan.
