Prisoner fans are the strangest and really the least embarassing subset of fans. They're usually very low-key and intelligent, like the show was. I'd like to go to 'The Village' once in my life.

You'll see a fair portion of cute girls at anime cons. Whereas at Sci-fi cons, 99% are horrid fatties, and even worse, many are Klingon fatties. So I'm gonna have to award anime with the win here.
I think the "otaku" thing is pretty Japanese-exclusive. Americans like to adopt the thing on a fashion level of some kind, though God knows why. It's all tied into how they're fucked up on a cultural level since WWII.
It's exclusively Japanese in the sense that a "Punk" had better be over 30 and throwing up on your couch.

For some reason they never ended any of the series' in a way that was satisfactory. I remember DS9 especially getting a real "Ho-Hum" ending compared to all the crazy shit they'd done. Then again, I never watched much of Enterprise so I guess I don't know the extent of how horridly it ended.
