For some reason they never ended any of the series' in a way that was satisfactory. I remember DS9 especially getting a real "Ho-Hum" ending compared to all the crazy shit they'd done. Then again, I never watched much of Enterprise so I guess I don't know the extent of how horridly it ended.

ST like most US shows isn't made with an intended ending. They normally tack one on, or don't give one at all. Or if a show does have an ending, there is a lame spin off to capitalize on the gravy train aka B5 EXCALIBUR.

I want to go to a maid cafe.

I went to one last time I was there - they were just starting to appear in Osaka, and the whole "Maid X" shop idea was just really getting going. First one I went to ended up being a cosplay cafe, and not a maid cafe, and was pretty crap. A small room stuck in a back alley, terrible atmosphere, and some creepy customers.

I later ran across an actual maid cafe, and tried it. Very nice atmosphere, cute waitresses, and not only a lot of "normal" cliental, but a large amount of female customers. I went with a couple of female friends, and they were laughing at how polite the Japanese the waitresses used was ("Master" this and "Mistress" that.) Wasn't that bad of a place except for the fact that you're paying out the nose for everything.

There's a lot of maid stuff over there now supposedly. I think one of the most recent new types of shops are maid hair salons.

At I-CON last year these two chicks were cosplaying as some fighting game whores and were actually fighting each other (trying really hard, too) on the lawn in front of the building with the Dealer's Room. They looked like maybe 22 years old. I'll post pics tomorrow if I think of it.

Anyway, that's part of the reason I didn't bother going this year.

You didn't miss anything. I went Friday night, bought Bone, helped organize some stupid anime karaoke shit, ran out of it out of fear, hid from my ex-girlfriend, went home with my girlfriend, and didn't go back the other two days 'cause there was NOTHING to fucking do.

...and I got in for FREE. Hell, I was online behind this crazy motherfucker to get my "participant" badge.
