Thread: Wizard's Top 100 Comics of the Past 30 Years

  1. Transmet's entertaining, but I'd never consider it as an example of excellence in writing.

  2. I disagree, I feel like the characters are a hell of a lot more rounded than say, Batman.

  3. It's just that it's rather inconsistent. The serious moments and messages are often undermined by all the over-the-top shock value stuff, it's like a clown getting hit by a dozen pies and then telling you in a solemn face that he needs a blood transfusion.

  4. That's largely what I dug about it, creepy clown analogy nonwithstanding. To each their own, of course.

I feel Wizard is perhaps waaaaay off base with a lot of their "lists," but they're ment for fanboy consumption. The Free Comic Book Day top 100 TPB's is the same way.

  5. Most interesting to me was the inclusion of Conan 100 (which I happen to have - I was actually collecting comics in 1979). That issue aside, the whole series always seemed vastly underrated in all departments.
    "Fiends! Animals! Bastards!"

  6. Holy shit, you're forty.

  7. lol.
