Reviews of online retailers?

I came across a website that's offering a camcorder I've been looking for for a really good price. Actually, it's a little too good, so I'm leery about dealing with them. Anyone know of anywhere online that has reviews or feedback on retail sites?

Ordered a Canon XT Rebel EOS-350D Silver Body for $409 + $19.90 7-12 Day S&H. No conformation email was received after order. Next day received email to contact Alan at extension 243 in regards to my order. First Alan confirmed my address. Alan asked about what types of cameras I have. I told him I have both an SLR and Digital and asked if I had any lenses. I told him I have some Minolta lens that I planned to use. He said they wouldn't work. I told him someone said they would. He asked if I had any questions. I said I wondered if the Body came with a battery. He said it didn't and started describing the different battery packages they have. I told him I could find a battery and charger elsewhere. He told me if I didn't by the battery and charger that they couldn't warranty the Camera and couldn't sell it to me. I said I'd like to keep the order just as it was. He told me it'd be 7 to 10 weeks for the order to be shipped. I said I thought it said 7 to 10 days on the shipping. He said 7-10 weeks because it was coming from overseas. He asked me if I wanted to cancel the order. I said no, I can wait. So I'll be interested to see what happens next.

I heard of one place which was selling Ipods at 240 euros, whereas rrp is 330 euros, which outright stated that they didn't have a warehouse, and ordered each item special for you from a supplier, hence saving money in the business, and passing the saving on for you. Because the items were ordered special, there was like a 6 week delay I think.
I don't know how it worked out, as I read no reviews, but I suppose that's one way sites can get prices down.

I also tried to buy an 250gb external for $90, whereas other sites were charging like $190, it took my debit card details, but I got no confirmation email...I don't know what's happening with that. I'll check my bank statement and see what happens.

yeah it's like that with those type of site.
They sell stuff at rock bottom prices, but before you make the order you HAVE to talk to a rep who try's to sell you a bunch of overpriced crap with your original order as hard as he can to make up for the original low price.

When I was looking into some HDTV, there were some sites selling a new TV that came out that very week & at 50% of the retail price!
Of course to order it, you need to call the 1-800 number & talk to a sales rep on purchashing it.
