Thread: Renting

  1. I've lived with friends before and have never had them skate out on the rent or bills so I dont know where the rest of you are coming from with that angle. I plan on living with 3 friends come this summer, and Im still not too worried about it.They drink - I drink. They play videogames - I play videogames. They are students - I'm a student. They like the bitches - I like the bitches.

One thing my soon to be new apartment does is have all parties sign something called a Guarantee of Responsibility form. Basically it has to be signed and notarized by the person living there and by his parents. If he cant pay the rent on time then the responsibility falls to the parents to pay for him. I've NEVER seen one of these and I've lived in more than a few apartments. And it's been years since I've asked my parents for anything, much less be responsible for me again. So I opted for the secondary Responsibility paperwork forms in which I had to show proof of work for at least a year, W-4's from the previous year, and proof of a savings account or other income to pay for at least 3 months worth of the rent...

  2. And you can't build death robots from books and great essays.
But you can inspire their creators.

IBTN. I didn't want to quote your entire post, but I agree with all of it. As you probably know, I was basically a math major. At Purdue, Actuarial Science was math, statistics, finance, accounting, and computer science, so basically math under five different names. I then took Physics and IE for my sciences and economics for my humanities. The only thing remotely resembling well-roundedness that I took was a Spanish minor. Thank God I didn't go to a liberal arts school.
