I don't know if any of you knew this but I found out this morning when reading Maximum PC. Apparently there is a limit to how many times you can install Vista into a computer. After the first install you can only install once more before having to call MS and obtain a brand-new one-time use license.
The biggie is that it uses some algorithms to determine if it's a new computer or not. Meaning if you frequently upgrade, Vista will decide whether it's in a new computer or not. At least that's how I interpreted the article.
you read and interpreted it correctly. basically its the same way it is now with XP (or at least im assuming it will be). make too many upgrades, call ms to activate.....have their automated 15 minute speech recognition not acknowledge your serial, talk to an out of country rep and get a new activation number.
but people tend to blow this way out of proportion.
